Mathilde Jessen

I walked in to my English class, my last period before school was out for the day. It was my sophomore year. I seen this beautiful girl in these strange clothes, and wild colors. I've never seen her before. She sat behind and I turned to talk to her. She told me her name was Mathilde, pronounced as Matilda. She was a foreign exchange student and she was from Denmark. She had a twin sister, that was her best friend in Denmark. They had matching tattoos and did everything together. We helped her write better, and even speak better. I remember one day, she went up to the chalkboard and drew what her country looked like. She told us about her country and how it is very different from ours. She let us listen to her music, which was very techno, and we let her hear, Drake and Nicki Minaj. She liked our music and we could dance to hers. She was a very happy girl. Then on May 3, 2012, 4:15 pm, she and her friend Miranda Lane, were hit by a Semi, they both were killed instantly. Their death took an emotional toll on everyone that walked the halls of Colerain High School. She only had one month until she graduated, one month until she could go home and see her loved ones again. She never made it. She is now a beautiful angel and I know she is in heaven smiling down on us. Rest in Peace
